Green water tank makes its debut
Posted On June 16, 2021
Green water tanks have long been the stuff of legend.
But for those of us who don’t live in the U.S., it’s still a bit of a wild west out there.
Here’s how to make one at home: 1.
Find an old water tank.
You can find a water tank on Craigslist for under $1,000.2.
Find a water heater.
This will make the water flow from the tank to your radiator, which will help keep the water temperature down.3.
Remove the cap.
It’s hard to do this without damaging the tank’s seals.4.
Remove a screw.
If you can’t get a screwdriver to the tank cap, you can remove the cap and cut the screw.
This can be done by cutting the cap off of a metal screwdriver, or you can get a metal nail to cut a piece of plastic.
The plastic will not stick to the screwdriver.5.
Cut the screw with a drill bit.
A drill bit will cut through the plastic, which makes the water run smoothly.6.
Place the water tank in the freezer for 30 minutes.
This is the time when the water in the tank will warm up, making it easier to pump it back up.7.
Remove any old water bottles and drain them to the sink.
You may need to drain the tank several times before it’s ready to use.8.
Heat up a small frying pan and put the water into it.
It should bubble up like a balloon.9.
Place your new tank into the oven.
This should take about 45 minutes.10.
After the water is boiling, turn off the stove.
You should see steam coming from the water.11.
Fill a glass container with water and pour into the glass.
Put the lid on tightly.12.
Add a few drops of distilled water to the glass and pour the water out.13.
Place a glass jar of fresh water on top of the glass jar.
You will want the water to be fresh, so you can pour it back in without having to worry about it getting soggy.14.
Pour your new water into your water heater or water heater kit.
Use a plastic tub or something to catch the hot water as it comes out.15.
Add some water to your glass water container.
It will bubble up.16.
Place in the fridge for about 30 minutes or until the water starts to boil.17.
If the temperature in the container is too high, it’s time to fill it back down.18.
Pour out the water from the plastic water container and put it in a glass bucket.19.
Use the lid to add water to a small pan.
You want to add about a half cup of water per gallon of water.20.
Put it in the oven for about 45 to 60 minutes until it’s bubbling.
